Need a VoIP Partner? Reseller vs. Wholesaler

Do you need a VoIP partner because you are thinking of starting to offer VoIP services to your existing client base? Or are you tired of working with an unreliable VoIP partner? Becoming a VoIP Reseller or VoIP Wholesaler is an exciting step for any business. Changing your current partner might seem less exciting. Choosing the right company in both instances can be daunting. Anecdotal evidence suggests that more and more South Africans are marrying later in life.  Being far more selective of who one chooses as a partner seems to be the main reason. Much like a marriage; choosing the right VoIP operator to partner with has become an integral decision for any business ready to take the plunge into offering VoIP.

Why is it important to partner with the right VoIP network operator, one might ask? Well, the operator should be established. They should have a proven track record on service delivery, network reliability and redundancy. Most importantly they should be able to assist the VoIP Reseller or Wholesaler with number porting. They should also be able to supply value-added services that complement their business. These services include Hosted Switchboards, Trunk services and Teleconferencing. Toll-Free and International Telephone numbers, as well as VoIP hardware, also assist in servicing the end user.

What to Expect when you become a Switch Telecom VoIP Partner: Reseller?

A Switch Telecom VoIP Reseller need not worry about credit management, billing the client for VoIP solutions and debt recovery. The reason for this is that Switch Telecom bills the client directly. Switch Telecom also manages the credit vetting and debt recovery of each end user that signs up. As a result, the Reseller need not worry about cash flow. The VoIP Reseller is in a position where they can add additional value to the client but also have the time to grow their own business.

Switch Telecom VoIP Resellers have to sign up for a Switch Telecom solution. As the saying goes “You have to eat your own dog food.” It’s important that our Resellers experience the sign-up process, technical support and quality of service first hand. Switch Telecom does credit and technical feasibility checks before approving new Resellers. These checks usually don’t take longer than 5 working days. Our Reseller Agreement outlines guidelines in terms of what is expected and draws clear lines of responsibility. It’s important to note that Switch Telecom will assist with technical support if and when required.
Generally, ICT companies and internet service providers would be best suited to apply for the Switch Telecom VoIP Reseller program. The VoIP solution piggybacks beautifully as a value-added service on an existing and established internet network. And as Switch Telecom doesn’t offer internet type solutions there is no conflict of interest. ICT companies or Internet Service Providers can also generate added revenue in the form of commission.

In order to apply for our VoIP Reseller program, we need the following:

  • A signed Switch Telecom Agreement. Read more about the sign-up process here.
  • A signed Switch Telecom Reseller Agreement. Contact us directly for the agreement.
  • Your company logo; jpeg or png files work perfectly. We use these to co-brand your own Switch Telecom Application form.
  • You need to have a professional website. We also ask that you present your Switch Telecom number on your website.

What can a VoIP Wholesaler expect?

A Wholesale VoIP partner is different from that of the Reseller VoIP partner. A Switch Telecom VoIP Wholesale partner will bill, manage debt, support and manage the end-user directly and in full. The VoIP network operator is the backbone and has no direct relationship with the end-user. In this scenario, the VoIP Wholesaler would be able to re-rate calls and subscription fees as they see fit and will qualify for volume discounts once calls and service fee volumes have met the right criteria. We can also offer API connections to our Wholesale partners. Switch Telecom offers wholesale services to both local and international clients. Credit and technical feasibility checks do take longer than those of the  VoIP partner signing up to the Reseller program but can be quicker depending on the complexity.

Most importantly our Wholesale Partners can still expect a high level of support from the Switch Telecom team.

In order to apply for our VoIP Wholesale program, Switch Telecom requires:

  • A copy of your business’s ECS license.
  • A signed Wholesale Agreement. Contact us for more information.
  • Lastly, you’ll need a billing platform in order to bill and re-rate calls and subscription fees.

Our friendly and helpful VoIP specialists at Switch Telecom are available to assist potential VoIP partners with any queries that may be present. Also, feel free to see what our clients think about us on Facebook and Google Review.

If your business is looking at becoming a VoIP Reseller or VoIP Wholesaler……… be discerning, choose the right VoIP partner, take the plunge and say…………….. ‘I do’.
